About electric current units

Electric current measures the flow of charge, in amperes. The ampere is one of the seven SI base units, defined since 2019 by fixing the elementary charge. Small electronics work in milliamperes, and power distribution in kiloamperes.

Milli means one thousandth and micro means one millionth of an ampere. Changing the unit does not convert an AC peak reading to RMS or an average reading; preserve the measurement convention.
