About resistance units
Resistance opposes the flow of current, measured in ohms. Ohm’s law ties the three together: one ohm is one volt per ampere. Resistor values are usually written with the prefix in place of the decimal point, so 4k7 means 4.7 kΩ.
Resistance units scale ohms (Ω = V/A). Conductance is the reciprocal quantity, measured in siemens; converting ohms to siemens requires taking a reciprocal rather than changing a prefix.
