About luminous flux units
Luminous flux is the total visible light a source emits in all directions, measured in lumens. It is the number printed on light bulb packaging, and projector brightness is often quoted in kilolumens.
Lumens measure total luminous flux. Lux measures flux per area and candela measures flux per solid angle; neither can be calculated from lumens alone without additional geometry.
