About force units
Force is mass times acceleration, measured in newtons. Pound-force and kilogram-force are the force each unit of mass exerts under standard gravity (9.80665 m/s²), which is why they are separate units from the pound and kilogram of mass in the Weight category.
Force is distinct from mass. Kilogram-force and pound-force use standard gravity, 9.80665 m/s²; calculating the weight of an actual mass at a location requires that location’s acceleration due to gravity.
